Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy Technician is a healthcare course that focuses on supporting pharmacists in the preparation, dispensing, and management of medications. Pharmacy Technicians play an important role in ensuring that medicines are accurately prepared, properly stored, and safely supplied to patients under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

The course trains students in pharmaceutical calculations, drug classification, dosage forms, prescription handling, inventory control, pharmacy ethics, and basic pharmacology. Students also learn customer service skills, record keeping, and proper handling of drugs in hospital and community pharmacy settings.

Entry Requirements

Candidates must possess any of the following qualifications:

  • GCE
  • WAEC
  • NECO
  • NABTEB

Applicants must have at least five (5) credit passes, which must include English Language, Biology, Mathematics, and any two of the following subjects:

  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • Geography
  • or other relevant science subjects
