Medical Records is a healthcare course that focuses on the proper collection, organization, storage, and retrieval of patient health information. The course prepares students to maintain accurate and confidential medical records to support healthcare delivery, planning, and research.

Students learn skills in medical documentation, coding of diseases, patient record management, data entry, health statistics, confidentiality, and compliance with healthcare regulations. The programme equips graduates to work efficiently in both paper-based and electronic medical record systems.

Entry Requirements

Candidates must possess any of the following qualifications:

  • GCE
  • WAEC
  • NECO
  • NABTEB

Applicants must have at least five (5) credit passes, which must include English Language, Biology, Mathematics, and any two of the following subjects:

  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • Geography
  • or other relevant science subjects
