Health Assistant Programme

The Health Assistant Programme is a foundational healthcare course designed to train individuals to support healthcare professionals in the delivery of basic health services. Health Assistants play an important role in providing routine care, assisting patients, and supporting health facilities, especially in primary healthcare and community settings.

The programme equips students with practical skills in basic nursing care, first aid, hygiene and sanitation, vital signs monitoring, patient handling, health education, and record keeping. Students are also trained in ethical conduct, communication skills, and infection prevention and control.

Entry Requirements

Candidates must possess any of the following qualifications:

  • GCE
  • WAEC
  • NECO
  • NABTEB

Applicants must have at least five (5) credit passes, which must include English Language, Biology, Mathematics, and any two of the following subjects:

  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • Geography
  • or other relevant science subjects
