Health Information Management is a healthcare course that focuses on the collection, storage, management, and protection of patient health records. The programme trains students to ensure that health information is accurate, secure, and accessible for effective healthcare delivery, research, and decision-making.

Students are trained in medical records management, health data processing, coding and classification of diseases, health statistics, information technology in healthcare, confidentiality, and ethics. The course prepares graduates to work efficiently with both paper-based and electronic health record systems.

Entry Requirements

Candidates must possess any of the following qualifications:

  • GCE
  • WAEC
  • NECO
  • NABTEB

Applicants must have at least five (5) credit passes, which must include English Language, Biology, Mathematics, and any two of the following subjects:

  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • Geography
  • or other relevant science subjects
