Medical Laboratory Science

Medical Laboratory Science is a healthcare course that focuses on the analysis of body fluids, tissues, and samples to help diagnose, monitor, and prevent diseases. Medical Laboratory Scientists play a vital role in the healthcare system by providing accurate laboratory test results that support clinical decisions.

The course trains students in areas such as clinical chemistry, hematology, microbiology, parasitology, histopathology, immunology, and laboratory safety. Students also learn proper laboratory techniques, use of diagnostic equipment, quality control, and ethical practices in medical laboratories.

Entry Requirements

Candidates must possess any of the following qualifications:

• GCE
• WAEC
• NECO
• NABTEB

Applicants must have at least five (5) credit passes, which must include English Language, Biology, Mathematics, and any two of the following subjects:

• Chemistry
• Physics
• Geography
• or other relevant science subjects
